Napa Valley AVA

Numerous awards and notable ratings

Sherri Carter is a multifaceted woman, being an accomplished artist, a graphic designer, a marketer, a businesswoman, a writer, and a true equestrian.

On top of all of that, she also manages her own award-winning wine label, Ruby Kurant, through which she produces just one wine – a Rhône inspired red she has appropriately named "The Archer".

Sherri grew up on a horse farm in a small Midwestern town where her country roots and rural lifestyle instilled in her a sense of adventure and love of nature. As she grew older, Sherri traveled through Amsterdam, Italy, and Greece, documenting her journeys and dreams into a book called Daily Decadence: The Art of Sensual Living.

When Sherri returned to the states in the late 1990’s, she packed her car and drove out west, pointing her energy towards California. She ended up on the northern coastline and fell in love with the ocean, the trees, the people, and the wine. It was here that she met and fell in love with Mark Carter of Napa Valley’s iconic Carter Cellars and Envy Wines and was inspired to make wines of her own. Meanwhile, she also founded a successful design firm building websites and creating graphics.

Ruby Kurant became a reality in 2006 with Sherri’s first release of The Archer, a Grenache-Syrah blend crafted from vineyards in the heart of Napa Valley. Each of Sherri’s passions are thoughtfully expressed in her Ruby Kurant label, blending her love of horses, art, and wine into an inspiring and creative project. The Ruby Kurant wine labels feature Sherri’s original artwork (she is an equestrian painter as well), with the designs changing out each year to distinguish the different vintages.

Sherri named her wine The Archer to celebrate her "maiden voyage" in the wine industry, and she has since been well received by the public and press with numerous awards and notable ratings.
