Rooted in a dedication to the land and the fruit it provides, Ferguson Crest is run by a father-daughter duo in the Santa Ynez Valley where handcrafted wines are made through organic and sustainably-minded practices.

Perched on one of the highest points in Solvang with panoramic views of the Santa Ynez Valley, Ferguson Crest is a family-owned boutique winery devoted to producing top-notch wines from Santa Barbara County vineyards. The Ferguson family’s 6-acre winery and vineyard property was established in 2006 by Pat Ferguson and his daughter Stacy Duhmel (aka Fergie, a Grammy Award-winning vocalist who first achieved success as part of the hip-hop group, the Black Eyed Peas). The father-daughter duo works with winemaker Joey Tensley to create exquisitely handcrafted wines that capture the spirit of Santa Barbara County’s unique terroir. Joey Tensley is a Food and Wine magazine award-winning winemaker with many of his wines ranked in the high 90’s, and a handful even listed among Wine Spectator’s Top 100 of the Year.

Pat Ferguson grew up in Southern California and always admired his father’s dedication and talent for growing oranges, lemons, limes, tangerines, and tangelos in his vast citrus grove. When Pat grew up and had a family of his own, he continued this farming tradition and transformed the backyard of his Los Angeles home into a wonderland of fruit and vegetable crops. His daughters Stacy and Dana often lent helping hands, and they were very proud of all the things they grew together. After Pat retired from more than three decades as a high school teacher and football coach, he moved from Los Angeles to the Santa Ynez Valley where he put his green thumb to work growing Syrah, Viognier, and Cabernet Sauvignon. With the help of his daughter Stacy, he launched Ferguson Crest in 2006 as a family-run venture.

Together, the Fergusons created a family ‘crest’ that is emblazoned on each label of Ferguson Crest wine. The crest features a boar’s head, an ancient symbol of hospitality that honors the family’s heritage and tradition of warmth and generosity. Pat Ferguson, both the co-owner and viticulturist for Ferguson Crest, is dedicated to using organic and sustainably-minded practices in the family vineyard - a true testament to his lifelong love of growing and harvesting, and his respect for preserving Santa Barbara County’s terroir.

The Ferguson family’s uncommonly tender care of its grapes and the premier winemaking skills of Joey Tensley have come together to create a rather successful team behind Ferguson Crest. Their award-winning wines are produced in very limited quantities and are sure to impress any wine enthusiast. Cheers!
