Extremely limited quantities from premium grapes in Napa and Sonoma County
Jason Court grew up with one great passion in life – the entertainment industry. Following in the footsteps of his mother (a model), Jason began booking jobs at an early age and has since been involved in all aspects of film and its many related industries – print and editorial advertising and commercial, feature film, and television production. His life took a turn at the age of forty (in 2001) when he was asked to participate in a unique project producing a documentary on winemaking and its influence in the American culture. Always one to enjoy a challenge, Jason accepted the offer and went north from Los Angeles to Napa Valley. What he didn’t anticipate was that during this five-week filming trip he would become enthralled with northern California, the geography of Napa Valley, and the art of the winemaking process. Here began his second great passion in life.
The following year, Jason decided to leave the film industry and followed this new interest by accepting an offer to work the harvest at Napa’s Cardinale Winery. Jason was fascinated by the industry and quickly moved into a full time position working in production for the Artisan Estates brands (Cardinale, Lokoya, La Jota and Atalon) where he did everything from pushing pumps, hauling hoses, and performing all hands on aspects of their winemaking protocol. He was also trained by multiple winemakers and over time developed his own approach and style to winemaking. Jason dreamed of one day starting his own brand and in 2008 that dream finally came true. That year, Jason founded Evidence Wines in Napa Valley, with the intention of crafting small lots of affordable boutique wines. His portfolio includes two Cabernet Sauvignons, a Zinfandel, and a distinctive Zinfandel-based red blend.
Each wine is produced in extremely limited quantities from premium grapes in Napa and Sonoma County and it is no question these are excellent value wines. Jason’s approach to winemaking is unique in that he has a focused yet relaxed style and strives to keep the wine tasting experience comfortable and non-intimidating. Now in his sixth successful year of Evidence Wines, Jason is proving it is never too late to reinvent oneself and it is always important to go after your dreams.
