Combining a love of wine and charitable interests, Entrepreneur Wines is a philanthropic winery offering ultra-premium wines that show off some of the best that Napa and Sonoma wine counties offer.
Wine with a purpose! A unique philanthropic winery endeavor located in Napa Valley, California, Entrepreneur Wines was founded by Randy and Patty Haykin to celebrate the spirit of the social entrepreneur while also positively impacting underprivileged and under-served children around the world. And, how do they do this? Through the sale of their small production, premium wines from Napa and Sonoma’s best vineyards and winemakers.
Born and raised in New York, Randy Haykin had been a serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist, involved with serious tech innovators like Apple and Yahoo. However, on the eve of his 50th birthday, Randy was inspired to shift his career to charitable giving in order to make a bigger impact on the lives of marginalized populations. Along with his wife, Patty, he established the Gratitude Network, a nonprofit that would help accelerate and support the growth of entrepreneurship programs serving children and youth around the world. So far, their impact has reached more than 40 million children - and it’s just the beginning!
To support the Gratitude Network, Randy and Patty founded Entrepreneur Wines in 2009 with the plan of donating significant profits of wine sales to the charity. These wines would not be your average, everyday wines though - Randy and Patty sought out legendary winemaker Kirk Venge (of Venge Vineyards, Hunnicutt, Macauley, JAX, and others), and with his access to some of the most esteemed vineyards in Napa Valley, they planned to craft small lots of the best wines possible.
While Kirk Venge oversees the winemaking of Entrepreneur’s Sonoma wines and all but one of the entity’s Napa wines, Winemaker Jeff Fontanella (of Opus One and Saddleback Cellars) is responsible for one bottling in the Entrepreneur portfolio - a Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon. Kirk and Jeff have each cultivated several of the Valley’s finest wines, many of which have received high 90+ ratings from the wine industry press.
With Entrepreneur Wines, Randy is capturing the creative and enterprising spirit of both winemakers and social entrepreneurs alike. After all, creating a fine wine takes the same dedication as creating a remarkable social venture: a combination of the right vision, product expertise, and a talented team to make an extraordinary difference.
