Cabernet Sauvignon
Red
(Cabernet Sauvignon pronunciation: Ca-ber-NAY Saw-vee-nyon)
At The Judgment of Paris, in 1976, Napa Valley Cabernets scored ahead of some top Bordeaux Châteaux in a blind tasting. This is a perfect example of how this varietal has played a key role in bringing International recognition to Napa Valley and other wine regions around the world. Cabernet Sauvignon is the most renowned grape for making cellar-worthy reds.
Cabernet Sauvignon is deeply colored, tannic and oaky from barrel aging. Lighter versions are made fresh and fruity. Its aromas can evoke black currant, cedar, dark berries, dark fruit, tobacco, vanilla, and more. While it's most famous in Bordeaux, this grape is grown worldwide and is often blended with other varietals such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and more. Cabernets produced by award-winning winemakers from Napa are one of our favorite varietals as well.
We have featured Cabernet Sauvignon in all six of our Wine Clubs and will continue doing so in the years to come!
