Zaca Mesa Syrahs have won dozens of medals over the years, including 3 Gold Medals at last year's competitions. The 1991 vintage is better than last year's multiple Medal winner, says the winery. "It't more tightly focused than previous vintages, with a more complex aroma of berries and spice." Zaca Mesa was the first in the county to plant Syrah back in the 1970's. After 20 years they know what they're doing! This wine benefited from a long "hang time" which tends to concentrate the flavors and aroma.
