The Wine Guerrilla 2010 Conte Vineyard Zinfandel comes from a tiny 2-acre site in Russian River Valley, just south of the town of Healdsburg. The Conte Vineyard was planted in 1995 as a field blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet, Grenache, and Carignane - meaning the grapes are comingled in the field, harvested together, and fermented together with the intention of creating a wine with great complexity and a wide range of flavors.
The 2010 Conte Vineyard Zinfandel is just that starting with a deep garnet color and an earthy, briary, black raspberry blend of aromas. Its flavors echo the aromas on a full-bodied palate of plums and berries with a spicy, raspberry tart finish.
