A delightful wine with concentrated apple, pear, and citrus flavors, focused with crisp acidity. "Our Chardonnay shows best with bottle age," says owner Dunc Haynes. Indeed, just entered in a 1995 wine competition, it won a lofty silver medal. The San Francisco Chronicle says Whitford's wine has "very light oak (which is a blessing) and a fine focus on the varietal character of Chardonnay." The vineyard itself earned a Gold Medal at the California State Fair in recognition of it contribution to the production of outstanding Whitford Cellars wine.
