Many wine aficionados proclaim 2004 the vintage of the century for Napa Valley, Rudy von Strasser's 2004 Sori Bricco adds the exclamation point.
Wine Spectator rates this wonderful wine 91 Points, "Big, firm, ripe and expressive, yet deftly balanced, with fine-grained tannins and a rich mix of mineral, red and black currant and wild berry. Offers mineral and sage notes on the finish."
In Wine & Spirits, the wine earned 91 Points, "It's sitting in its oak at the moment, a rich black wine that gives only extract on the surface, but shows tension underneath. The clean exposition and the tense structure should allow it to age with grace."
In the Wine Advocate, Robert Parker's review reads, 90 Points, "A dense ruby/purple color, as well as a complex bouquet of sweet cherries, underbrush, a touch of Provencal garrigue, spice box, licorice, and new oak."
International Wine Cellar rates the wine 90 Points, "Lovely aromatic lift to the flavors of currant, raspberry, licorice and rose petal. The dusty character carries through to the sweet, broad finish."
