The Domaine de Villeneuve winery is situated in the northern part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation and the estate’s 20 acres of vines average 65 years of age with some parcels dating over 100 years old! The ‘Les Vieilles Vignes’ Red Blend shows terrific purity, depth and concentration and blends 70% Grenache, 16% Mourvedre, 8% Syrah, 4% Cinsault and 2% Clairette.
Robert Parker says, “This stylish, elegant 2009 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes offers up copious aromas of raspberries, kirsch and loamy soil undertones as well as a full-bodied mouthfeel. The well-made wine is surprisingly evolved and is ideal for drinking over the next 7-8 years.”
Wine Regions of the World
