Venge’s 2007 Scout’s Honor Proprietary Red Blend was made in honor of Venge’s beloved yellow Labrador retriever, Scout. As unique as the winery dog it was named after, Scout’s Honor is a Zinfandel based blend with lesser amounts of Petite Sirah, Charbono and Syrah.

One of the finest vintages of Scout’s Honor to date, the 2007 was awarded 93 Points by Connoisseurs’ Guide and 92 Points by Robert Parker: “A wine that I love, and a super bargain, is their 2007 Scout’s Honor. This is one heck of a seductive wine that continues to be the kind of wine you wish more California wineries would make. This might be the best Scout’s Honor cuvee that Kirk Venge has yet produced. Deep bluish/plum/purple, with an explosively aromatic nose of sweet roasted herbs and black and red cherries intermixed with blackberry, licorice, pepper, and floral notes, this wine has loads of fruit, an opulent, voluptuous mouthfeel, superb purity and texture, and a full-bodied finish.”
