The 1985 Brut is full and creamy in the mouth, with a forward, yeasty aroma. It is clean and crisp on the tongue and follows with a perfect blend of lime, ginger and spicy apple flavors. The Wine Spectator scored this wine an '84' calling it "...well balanced, with lemon and apple flavors and a clean finish."
This vintage is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay grapes. The grapes were picked with a higher than usual level of sugar, providing an excellent acid-alcohol balance. Unlike other wines, absolutely no sulfur was used in it's production. Total sulfite count is less 10ppm, which occurs naturally by the yeast fermentation.
