The Thacher 2016 ‘Normal Deviation’ is a blend of 77% Zinfandel and 23% Petite Sirah from the family’s home vineyard, Kentucky Ranch, on Paso Robles’ famed Westside. On the nose, one can immediately sense the sea salt, blueberries, and dark chocolate notes. The Petite Sirah lends a unique hoisin tang. The palate is more red-fruited, with distinctive flavors of fresh strawberries covered in balsamic, sea salt and crushed peppercorn. The tannins are beautifully polished and rounded, that while friendly, also show incredible weight. Enjoy!
