Tercero’s 2016 Mourvèdre Rosé is arguably the winery's best vintage yet. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were foot stomped by winemaker, Larry Schaffer (and only Larry!), left on the skins for an hour, then dumped in the press and pressed whole cluster. The juice was then fermented at cooler temperatures in a stainless tank, before being aged in a combination of stainless steel and older French oak barrels for about 4 months.
This beautiful light colored Mourvèdre Rosé is an outstanding example of a high-quality California Rosé. A refreshing full-bodied wine with an elegant mouthfeel leading into a tangy, dry finish. Don't be afraid to allow this Rosé to warm up closer to room temperature - you'll notice the aromatics are more pronounced and the texture of the wine becomes more noticeable.
