“My 2013 Santa Barbara County Mourvèdre is arguably the best one I’ve crafted to date - and I’ve been making 100% Mourvèdre since 2006,” owner/winemaker Larry Schaffer recently revealed. His 2013 vintage is a blend of fruit from four different vineyard sites located within Santa Barbara County - Larner, Thompson, El Camino Real, and Camp 4 - all of which are highly regarded for their top notch grape quality. Look for aromas of cranberry, pomegranate, cherry pie and exotic Turkish spices with flavors of plum, violets, rosewater and white pepper. It’s light and easy on the palate, and as Wine Enthusiast stated, “It’s much like drinking a bouquet of flowers.” Tercero’s 2013 Mourvèdre has all of the quintessential qualities Larry Schaffer looks for in a Mourvèdre - some bright fruit, lots of spice and earthiness, and a ‘funk’ that makes you keep going back for more and more.
