Their 2003 Pinot Noir earned Sonoma Coast Vineyards the recognition of being one of the top Pinot Noir producers at the well-regarded International Pinot Noir Competition. The Connoisseurs’ Guide agrees— 92 Points, “Ripe and rich in tone with interesting nuances of caramel, dried grapes and twigs, wild cherry spice and crème brulee, this wine is full and somewhat fleshy in weight with a touch of the velvet that is so prized in Pinot Noir. Its flavors are ripe and fruity with plenty of continuity and vitality, and even a note of latter-palate heat does not diminish its vigor and attractiveness.”

This lustrous wine was rated 91 Points by the Wine Enthusiast — “Made from grapes grown close to the chilly Pacific, this is a wine with bright acidity and elegance. It’s got some size too, but unlike many big, rich Pinots from warmer areas this one toes the line of balance like a pro. The cherry cola, raspberry, tea and gentle spice flavors are satisfying and complex.”

The 2003 Pinot Noir is very food friendly and its complex balance of fruit and bright acidity will complement an array of rich entrees.
