Produced from Sol Rouge’s estate property in Red Hills Lake County, the 2011 Gypsy Rouge is a Rhône-style red blend of 76% Grenache, 13% Mourvèdre, 4% Syrah, 3% Counoise, 3% Cinsault, and 1% Petite Sirah. This wine opens with subtle and elegant aromas of raspberries, strawberries, and cherries, accented by lavender, spice, and a touch of minerality. On the palate, this blend shows wonderful balance of ripe, earthy berry fruit flavors with notes of white pepper, vanilla, cherry and oak. Soft tannins linger on the finish.
