This Rhône varietal can be incredibly stellar, as is this small production Grenache Blanc from Seven Angels Cellars. A relative of the more widely-planted Grenache (red), the Grenache Blanc is the 5th most planted white varietal in France. Its nose features notes of bright green apple and fresh citrus and even some herbaceous overtones. The palate is clean and developed with more crisp green apple and touches of both peach and anise for good measure. Excellent structure, full body and low acidity provide a silky and full-flavored finish. 100% Grenache Blanc that was aged in used French oak for a period of ten months. Be adventuresome and pair this amazing wine with Tuna Tataki. A herb-rubbed roast will amaze as will a Braised Rabbit in mustard sauce or even a Butternut Squash Soup.
