2009 marks the 12th release of Seavey Vineyard’s cherished Caravina Cabernet Sauvignon, and the team is particularly pleased with this vintage as it perfectly honors their intent of crafting an accessible, yet very cellarable, Cabernet. The Caravina, which means “Dear Vineyard” in Italian, is Seavey’s celebrated estate grown, second-label Cabernet Sauvignon that has been described as “perhaps the best second wine in all of Napa Valley” by Robert Parker. A huge honor!

The nose of the 2009 Caravina shows pretty floral, violet notes that blend with toasted, savory herb spices. On the palate, the wine is broadly flavored with nice complexities and accents of cassis, currant, blackberry, cedar, tobacco, French roast, and mocha. Robert Parker says, “The 2009 impresses for its depth, power, and overall sense of harmony.”
