Not just a Gold Medal, but the best Chardonnay in its price class ($13.00-$17.50). National wine columnist Jerry Mead rated it an 88 saying it has, "Tropical fruit, with spicy (nutmeg & vanilla) aroma and entry flavor, but finishing with lemony citrus cleanness."
This is Schug Winery's top Chardonnay, made exclusively from grapes grown on highly touted Beckstoffer Vineyard in Napa's Carneros Appellation. Rich and creamy aromas, citrus and pear fruit flavors, and a honey-like texture. This is a well balanced wine in the European style, making it an exceptional compliment to many cuisines.
