St. Helena Road Winery’s 2006 Roy J. Maier Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with small percentages of Malbec, Petite Verdot and Merlot - a hand crafted achievement from the winery’s Sonoma County mountain fruit. This ultra-refined, Bordeaux-style blend is the winery’s premier offering and was produced as a tribute to one of the roaring twenties’ most talented musicians and mechanical geniuses. The 2006 Roy J. Maier Cabernet Sauvignon recently garnered 91 Points from Wine Spectator as well as 90 Points from Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar. Complex and vibrant aromas of black cherry, vanilla, clove, cinnamon, milk chocolate, and blackberry notes represent one of the most aromatic and complete wines to date from St. Helena Road Winery. The palate is at once full-bodied and rich, yet elegant and supple, filling the mouth with juicy, boisterous flavors of intense mountain fruit. The tannins are smooth and refined, leaving the wine with the energy for a long, fruit-filled finish.
