Robert Rue Vineyard's 2007 Reserve Zinfandel hails from the family vineyard off Wood Road in the Russian River Valley appellation in Sonoma County. This region is recognized for producing intense, luscious wines (especially Zinfandel) and the Rues' vineyard site produces especially bright, concentrated fruit vintage after vintage.

A serious showstopper this year, the 2007 Reserve Zinfandel has deeply set fruit aromas layered over spicy pepper and rich oaky notes. Luscious blackberry and fresh raspberry flavors frame the palate and plush mocha and smooth vanilla round it out before leading into a lingering, lengthy finish.

A multi-award winner at some of the country's top rated wine competitions, the Robert Rue 2007 Reserve Zinfandel garnered a Gold Medal at the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition, a Gold Medal at the International Eastern Wine Competition, and a Gold Medal at the Best of the Bay Wine Competition. Try pairing this beautiful wine with slow-roasted lamb shanks, cedar-planked salmon, or black pepper encrusted seared ahi.
