The Château Duplantier Red Blend has been in the Rideau Vineyard program since the beginning (almost twenty years!), and always features the same four grape varietals: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Petite Sirah. This unique take on the classic Rhône-style ‘GSM’ blend has garnered substantial popularity over the years, and one sip of this new 2015 vintage reveals why. There is an intensity of black fruit and dark chocolate notes that are complimented by lighter, more acidic notes of pomegranate and fresh blueberries. Underneath these elements lies a pleasant level of Chai spice, cardamom, cloves and cinnamon, and just a hint of pink peppercorns. Silky tannins carry this incredible range of flavors through the long, lingering finish.
