Located in the city of Valladolid, Spain, the Tempranillo grapes selected for this young red wine had the privilege of growing at an altitude of just over 3,000ft; the highest growing area of the Ribera del Duero wine region. Pinna Fidelis’ 5-10 year-old vines cultivated at this height benefit from limestone soil and ever-changing temperatures. While their yield is not large, the resulting grapes maturing under these conditions slowly ripen with high concentrations of quality juice.
The 2010 Vendimia Seleccionada is deep violet-red in color and delivers a rich and complex nose of black fruit, preserves, vanilla, toffee and spices with a hint of minerality. The aromas compliment its full-bodied and powerful palate which possesses balanced lemon driven acidity, toasted tannins and earthy berry flavors. A warm, lingering finish adds finesse to this memorable wine.
