A gorgeous blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, the Picayune 2015 Rive Gauche is owner/winemaker Claire Weinkauf’s gratitude wine, dedicated to her friends, family, and community. The name ‘Rive Gauche’ means ‘left bank’ in French and is a nod to this Left Bank Bordeaux-inspired blend. On the nose, welcoming aromas of cassis and blueberry mingles with notes of black olives and tobacco leaves. The palate is elegant, bold, and well balanced with flavors of juicy strawberries and wild berries and subtle hints of dark chocolate and lavender. The finish is long and focused with lingering notes of bergamot black tea.
