The Paint Horse 2007 Sonoma Valley Merlot is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, produced from Paint Horse Winery’s estate vineyard. Winemaking for these varietals combined the best of traditional Bordeaux methods with new, modern techniques.
The barrels this wine aged in were 100% French oak and produced by fine Bordeaux coopers to ensure the finished wine balanced a wonderful richness of flavors with a soft, yet well-structured texture. Rich ruby in color, the Paint Horse 2007 Merlot has aromas of ripe black cherry bramble, clove, and allspice, with hints of toasty oak and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is full bodied with flavors of ripe black berries and soft, supple, fine-grained tannins. The finish is long and lingering.
