93 points + Editor's Choice from Wine Enthusiast! “This wine feels mellow, with a complex array of black fruits and berries, grilled bacon, sweet tobacco, dark chocolate and, above all, freshly crushed black pepper. An impressive Syrah,” says Wine Enthusiast magazine.
Occidental Road Cellars’ 2007 Syrah comes from Richard and Joelle Prather’s estate vineyard, which actually straddles the Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley appellations – the designating line goes straight through the site!
This cool climate, 880-foot elevation site has preformed remarkably well for their premium wine grapes, especially the Syrah, which turns out super rich, complex wines vintage after vintage. The 2007 Syrah is a powerful wine with a lush flavor profile, incredible balance, and a deliciously soft finish. A wonderful wine, offered at a hard-to-beat price!
