The Mountford 2014 ‘Liaison’ Pinot Noir comes from the youngest vines on the winery estate. Planted in 2009, on the Eastern slopes of New Zealand’s Waipara Valley, this block of vines was planted in a much higher density to create their own little microclimate. On the nose, this wine has aromas of rich leather, Indian spices and black cherries. The palate is earthy with a light smokiness and hints of Black Doris plums. This Pinot Noir has well-balanced acidity which gives it great length and aging potential. Enjoy!
