An Old World, Burgundian-style Pinot Noir from the Nakai Vineyard in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley, The Meeker Vineyard 2020 Pinot Noir is beautifully balanced with nice tannin structure, fresh acidity, and fresh fruit flavors. Nakai Vineyard sits on a low bench on the eastern, warmer side of the Russian River Valley, specifically in a pocket of hills that keeps it cooler with a relatively extended hang time for the area. Aki Nakai lives on the property and farms the vineyard himself, as he has for decades. This lush 2020 Pinot Noir offers nuances of cassis, cherry pie, and vanilla pound cake, all wrapped around a nicely structured core before fading into a soft and gentle finish. Enjoy!
