The Meadowlark 2015 Syrah hails from the Meadowlark Vineyards, planted along the banks for the Santa Ynez River in the prestigious Los Olivos District AVA. Being adjacent to the River provides very cool mornings and evenings that allows for longer growing seasons and larger diurnal temperature swings from day to night. Less than a handful of vineyards in this AVA are within this truly unique microclimate. On the nose, this Syrah opens with soft vanilla notes and ripe cherry accents and hints of black currant and licorice. The palate is rich, full-bodied, and well-balanced with flavors of blackberry, black currant, warm vanilla and gentle white pepper that lead into a linger finish. Enjoy!
