Gold Medal Wine Club Exclusive Selection! The Mayen Creek 2005 Reserve Cabernet, is produced 100% from grapes grown in the famous “Rutherford” region of Napa Valley. Rutherford has its own unique appellation or AVA (American Viticultural Area). Its six-square-mile plot of vines, halfway up the Napa Valley, rivals the best appellations of the Old World. The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon is a gorgeous deep red in color with a rich ruby rim. The jam-packed bouquet opens magnificently showing scents of Bing cherries, dark chocolate, vanilla, soft oak and a touch of Rutherford dust. The wine displays concentrated flavors of sweet and sour cherries, dark berries, chocolate mocha with hints of vanilla and oak. It is a nicely structured and very approachable Cabernet Sauvignon exhibiting unusually soft tannins.
