Each vintage, David Scheidt isolates a vineyard block worthy of the reserve-level ‘1-T-L’ release and then he harvests, ferments, and ages the wine separately. Comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 ‘1-TL’ comes from the famed Pauli/Mauritson Vineyard in the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County.
The aromas and flavors show bright tones of black and blue fruit, with noticeable blackberry and spice, all supported by a rich and full-bodied palate with soft yet well-structured tannins. The name ‘1-T-L’ comes from David Scheidt’s dad (Thomas Leroy) and was chosen the year they picked up the one-ton-lot of fruit in his one-ton pickup. Enjoy!
