Margerum’s 2012 Black Oak Vineyard Syrah is a single-vineyard wine produced from a vineyard in the Los Alamos Valley of Santa Barbara County. Here, the vines produce a rich, full bodied wine and one of the most age-worthy releases in Margerum’s portfolio.
Deep reddish-black in color, the Margerum 2012 Black Oak Vineyard Syrah offers an intriguingly complex array of black and blue fruit aromas, combined with black pepper, violet, rose petals, thyme, rosemary and hints of anise. On the palate, flavors of burnt blueberry, blackberry, black cherry, black pepper, cola, and cedar blend together to create an intricate weave of savory and spice. Velvety, present tannins are persistent and help create a lingering, lengthy finish.
