A blend of 48% Tannat, 23% Zinfandel, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 14% Petite Verdot, the Lone Madrone 2012 "The Dodd" Red Blend was produced from the Klau Mine Vineyard in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles. This wine is savory and complex with aromas of ripe blackberry, black currant and raspberry, with hints of baking spice. A robust, lively and complex palate offers notes of dark chocolate, red cherry, plum, and spice. "The Dodd" is named for the Dodd family who owns the Klau Mine Vineyard; they are also ancestors of one of the founding fathers of the Adelaida area.
