Did you know Cabernet Sauvignon is the offspring of two other grape varietals? It's true. Back in the 17th century, there was a chance crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc that resulted in the noble Cabernet Sauvignon varietal we know today. Langmeil's 2019 'Offspring' Cabernet Sauvignon reminds us of this varietal's serendipitous origins. Deep crimson in color, this wine is bold, dark, rich, and cellar-worthy. On the nose, aromas of bright, juicy blueberry and blackcurrant leap out of the glass, while hints of cassis, brambly spice and chocolate slowly reveal themselves. The palate is well-balanced with brambly blue fruits and sweet spices, while fine-grained tannins carry out the long and fruity finish. Enjoy!
