Kokomo Winery’s 2011 Claret is a Bordeaux style blend from the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County. Owner/winemaker Erik Miller produced this wine with the intention of making the most balanced and complex example of a Dry Creek Valley Bordeaux blend. The 2011 Claret shows aromas of brambleberries and cherries mixed with notes of leather and spice, while the palate is rich and smooth with flavors of blackberry, black cherry, earth, spice and cocoa. The supple tannins and lively flavors balance each other very nicely.

All six of our wine of the month clubs include wines from a multitude of wine growing regions, and as the French say, the concept of terroir is paramount. This idea stretches well beyond France and is a large contributing factor for wines produced in all wine regions around the world.
