Keller Estate’s 2011 La Cruz Vineyard Pinot Gris was produced with 100% estate grown fruit from the winery’s renowned vineyard on the eastern edge of the Sonoma Coast appellation. This site sees direct influence from the Petaluma Gap, which funnels fog and cold Pacific Ocean breezes inland during the growing season and provides the perfect setting for cool-climate loving varietals like Pinot Gris.
The 2011 La Cruz Vineyard Pinot Gris is a beautifully crafted terroir-driven wine that truly represents the site it is from. La Cruz Vineyard’s ancient sea bed soils are naturally mineral rich, which imparts nice minerality characters in the wine, while the cooler climate promotes a longer growing season for the grapes to develop fruit intensity, magnificent aromas, and a full-bodied mouth feel. As a result, the 2011 La Cruz Vineyard Pinot Gris is delightfully fresh with lively flavors of stone fruit, lemon zest, peaches and apricots. Floral notes highlight the long vibrant finish.
