The Joyce 2019 Gablian Mountains Pinot Noir comes from a special site coined ‘Danny’s Vineyard,’ which is farmed by the Franscioni brothers in honor of their late father. These 25 year-old Pinot Noir vines are grown on the eastern side of the Salinas Valley and are subject to the strong marine influences of the Monterey Bay. The mild days and cool, evening temperatures, along with the granite-limestone soils make for an ideal growing site for Pinot Noir. Joyce’s 2019 Pinot Noir opens with aromas of watermelon and Herbs de Provence, followed by juicy fruit flavors of dried apricot and tart raspberry with hints of herbs and clove. The texture is the highlight form start to finish, creating an illusion of a fuller body that lingers beautifully on the finish. Enjoy!
