From one of California's smallest, most rugged appellations, JC Cellars 2007 Rockpile Haley's Reserve Syrah comes from the Rockpile region of Sonoma County, located just north of Dry Creek Valley. This tiny appellation has a viticultural history dating back to 1872 and has proven to be an ideal location for growing full-bodied Syrahs, full of spice and rich fruit flavors.

Aromatically, the 2007 Rockpile Haley's Reserve Syrah has a bold combination of black cherry nuances that swirls between blackberries, chocolate and peppery spices. On the palate, the wine is both supple and soft while also showing a firm mineral structure to support the powerfully rich fruit.

The Wine Spectator says the 2007 Syrah offers wonderful purity of flavors, with a mix of rich blackberry, wild berry and boysenberry fruit that's intense, focused, supple and structured, gaining complex mineral, anise, sage, and cedar flavors. Long on the finish.
