Jacob Franklin’s 2016 “#6 Mon Chou” Red Wine is a blend of six red varietals native to the Bordeaux region of France, with the Coursen family’s grapes hailing from the esteemed AVA of Yountville, Napa Valley. ‘Mon Chou,’ translates to ‘My little cabbage,’ which is a term of endearment in French that means ‘My Sweetie.’ This wine is rich with flavors, complexity, and depth - a style that is always close to the Coursen family’s hearts. Dark ruby in color, this wine opens with a dusty nose of violets, cocoa, cassis, blackberries, tobacco, and mint. On the palate, sweet, toasty oak greets focused flavors of mulberries, cherries, and red currants. Full bodied and well balanced with deep fruit flavors, the #6 Mon Chou shows well-integrated tannins before leading into a smooth, lingering finish. 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, 19% Malbec, 18% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, and 5% Carménère. Enjoy!
