Another exclusive debut offering from the Gold Medal Wine Club! We thought it would be educational as well as fun for members to learn about and taste the differences between these two similar sounding wines. While Syrah and Petite Sirah are both Rhône varietals, contrary to what many think, they are not the same, nor are they even related.

Petite Sirah produces a very dark, almost inky wine that tends to be massive, tannic and long lived. It's similar to Syrah in flavor, but usually exhibits heartiness in place of Syrah's elegance. The Inheritance Petite Sirah manages to stay within the expected ripe, dense, inky norm for Petite and will prove a great favorite of those who favor extract and power. We recommend that you decant the wine at least an hour before drinking to allow the aromas and flavors to open up.
