A blend of 68% Shiraz and 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, the Henry’s Drive 2019 Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon has an attractive bouquet of ripe mulberry, mint and nutmeg. The palate is beautifully balanced with firm tannins and flavors of blackberry, cedar and cacao that lead into the long finish. The Henry’s Drive brand takes its name from a 19th century operation that was once established on the Longbottom family’s Padthaway property. At the time, only horse-drawn carriages provided the transit of mail and passengers and the coach drivers reigned supreme on top of their coaches, winning the respect and admiration of their passengers. The coach service provider in this part of the state was a certain Mr. Henry John Hill and his operation drove directly through the property now owned by the Longbottom family. Since the routes were known as ‘Drives,’ the family wine business adopted the name of Henry’s Drive. Please enjoy this wonderful wine, which pairs especially well with veal or lamb. Cheers!
