95-Points, Wine News magazine
"Inky black hue. Heady aromas of blueberry, mint, cherry and black licorice. Supple texture, perfectly integrated polished tannins and lovely, mouth-filling Cabernet fruit defined by cherry, plum and mint. Lasting jammy impressions coat the palate."

93-Points, Wine & Spirits magazine
"The glorious texture is at once tight, firm and supple, the wine heady and dark. It smells like Stag's leap earth, and though it seems soft—as Stags Leap District Cabernets often do—it may well evolve over the coming decade. Even now, the wine is lovely to drink: Spicy scent of cumin and cardamom meld with the dark richness, a lush and gripping pleasure to decant for braised short ribs. It grows on twenty acres of terraced hillsides just south of Fay Vineyard, a part of the valley that gets plenty of morning fog, which may account for that supple richness in the wine."

93-Points, Wine Enthusiast magazine
"Gorgeous, beautiful wine, so strongly delicious on its own that it will be a challenge to pair it with food. A myriad of flavors cascades over the palate: cassis, black currants, black cherries, white chocolate, spiced plums and dried herbs. So rich and decadently ripe, it’s almost a dessert wine. The tannins are completely soft and melted."

92-Points, Very Highly Recommended, California Grapevine publication
"Medium-dark ruby color with purplish tinges; attractive, intense, cedary, cassis and black cherry fruit aroma that developed depth and complexity with airing in the glass; full body; big, forward, rich, concentrated, ripe blackberry fruit flavors with good depth and lingering aftertaste. Fruit and oak are well balanced and integrated making this appealing wine approachable now. Very Highly Recommended."
