While searching the prestigious viticultural regions of California, Richard Mansfield, the Grandmaster behind this esteemed wine brand, selected Knights Valley to produce a handcrafted, small production Sauvignon Blanc. Knights Valley lies just north of the Napa Valley and is a small, intimate wine grape growing region tucked between its famous Sonoma County neighbor (Alexander Valley) and the world-renowned Napa Valley to the south.

Although well known for its Cabernet Sauvignons, there are select special vineyards planted to Sauvignon Blanc, a varietal that thrives in this world-class growing region. These Sauvignon Blancs are rare and sought out by the most discriminating wine connoisseurs.

The Grandmaster 2010 Sauvignon Blanc is a Gold Medal Special Selection, and a beautiful representation of Knights Valley, made similar in style to the great Sauvignon Blancs from New Zealand’s Marlborough region. On the palate, this wine has incredibly crisp flavors of kiwi and lemongrass, balanced with a brilliant acidity. Its delicate blend of subtle tropical fruit and citrus is heightened by light notes of herb and a twist of lemon peel on the finish.

Try pairing the 2010 Sauvignon Blanc with vegetable fritto misto, shrimp tempura, or a plate of fried Razor clams.
