Paso Robles, part of California’s famed Central Coast, is home to arguably some of the finest red wines grown in California, including this distinctive 2009 Red Blend from Grandmaster Winery.
The 2009 Paso Robles Red Blend comes from select hillside and valley vineyards that produce fruit with wondrous depth and concentrated flavors. The “Grandmaster,” Richard Mansfield, has crafted an elegant, silky wine with his Paso Robles Red Blend, but it is so limited in supply that it could not submitted for review.
A Gold Medal Special Selection, the 2009 Red Blend has a myriad of aromas including plum, dark cherries, mocha, and vanilla that set the stage for juicy, mouth-filling flavors. The finish is elegant and smooth with velvety tannins and a balanced acidity.
Try pairing the Grandmaster 2009 Paso Robles Red Blend with braised lamb shanks, barbecue Texas-style beef brisket or eggplant parmesan.
