The craggy, boulder-strewn, wind-kissed, Stagecoach Vineyard is known for its “extreme terroir”. This balance of volcanic soils, sun, fog and altitude creates the ideal environment for Bordeaux varietals, especially Cabernet Sauvignon. It took courage and vision and a water witch to develop this vineyard, and its’ sustainable and innovative practices have brought Stagecoach the renown it deserves.
Deep purple-black colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyards offers forest floor, dusty soil, truffles and mossy bark notes over a red and black currant core plus a waft of bay leaves. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is firm and tightly knit at this youthful stage, with a riveting quiet intensity and bags of potential. This wine absolutely loves red meat, including venison, rosemary lamb, braised short ribs, as well as grilled steak with mushroom sauce.
