Inspired by the family, friends and experiences that make people ‘rich,’ Element 79 Vineyards was born out of Les and Sharon Heinsen’s love of wine, winemaking and the winemaker lifestyle. Gold is the 79th element on the periodic table and was the inspiration for the winery name. More than just the symbol of ‘gold’ on the vine and in the bottle, the name was also inspired by their love of the El Dorado County region and a recognition of its importance in our nation’s history as the location that began the legendary California Gold Rush. Plus, 1979 was also the year that Les and Sharon were married and began their partnership that has made them ‘rich’ in life.
The Element 79 Vineyards 2019 ‘Abby’s Rosé’ is a blend of 60% Syrah, 29% Zinfandel, and 11% Viognier, varietals that all thrive in the Fair Play growing region. Light salmon in color, this wine opens with captivating aromas of rose petals, white peach, ginger and slate. The palate of dragonfruit, guava and softly crushed raspberries is followed with a bright finish that will keep you coming back for more.
