Edward Sellers’ 2006 Cuvée des Cinq is a deep, seductive Rhône-style blend comprised of 22% Syrah, 22% Grenache, 22% Mourvèdre, 19% Counoise, and 15% Cinsault. This distinctive blend emphasizes Paso Robles’ ability to produce stunning Rhône varietals, and when blended together, the result is wonderfully complex and distinctive to the region.

In the Cuvée des Cinq, each variety contributes its own character to the blend, coming together to make an elegant wine with focus, finesse, soft edges and a luscious, layered nose. Fresh red fruits and deep dark berry aromas mingle with notes of cocoa and cedar, while in the background, hints of earth and smoke carry over into the mouth. With its length and intensity, Cuvée des Cinq is built to age and should continue to evolve for years to come.

Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar rates the Edward Sellers 2006 Cuvée des Cinq 90 Points: “Impressively complex nose displays sexy red berry, anise and floral aromas. Concentrated, spicy raspberry and blackberry flavors are enlivened by tangy minerality. A striking, precise wine that finishes with very good lift and cut.”
