The DeWitt Vineyard 2015 Tempranillo comes from a special block in the vineyard that is planted to the Tinta Roriz clone of Tempranillo, from the Douro region of Portugal. Interestingly, Tinta Roriz was long thought to be a unique variety of grape on its own and has, since the time the DeWitts planted it, been genetically identified as another clone of Tempranillo. It makes wines very reminiscent of the table red wines made in the Alta Douro and is very ‘Rioja-like’ in profile. Balanced notes of bright red fruits, hints of violets, and touches of white pepper make this 2015 Tempranillo intriguing, distinctively different, and absolutely delicious. Enjoy!

Chile Rellenos al Horno
