Latin for intimately connected, Implico is Derby Wine Estates’ red blend produced of varieties grown on two of the winery’s estate vineyards. The 2009 Implico is Bordeaux in style and comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are from Laura’s Vineyard in east Paso Robles, while the Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc are from Derby Vineyard in west Paso Robles. Blended together, the fruit beautifully complements each other and the result is a wonderfully well-balanced wine with nice flavor complexities.

The 2009 Implico is deep red in color with aromas of blackberries and raspberries with a touch of oak and a hint of vanilla. Lush and broad on the palate, this wine displays good energy with its lively, fresh fruit flavors of berries and cassis.
